A Little Friendly Fabric

Yes, I said FABRIC......

I am not sure why Kelly chose FABRIC for out February Calendar Girl Challenge, but she did.  So here I am to show you a card I made.  She said it could be anything.....lol. I could barely wrangle a card out of this challenge, so didn't dare try anything else.

So, I did what any non-fabric CG would do....cheated.  Yes friends, you heard it straight from my mouth....lol

The fabric is the stick on kind....lol. (TYVM Judy for a super prezzie a while back)
I also made the flower out of two ribbons and a stick pin.....  I did try getting the ribbon to even be leaves....lol

I don't expect anyone to ever say I did well at this challenge, but.....I did try (and that must be worth a little something!).

Bee Happy

Over the weekend, I "tried" to be productive by "organizing" my craft area.  I really wanted to make a card congratulating my cousin on her engagement, BUT....  I haven't quite finished that card.

I do have an 8x10 scrap page I turned into a wall art piece.

This piece was created following Challenge 7 at 1-2-3 Get Scrappy!  I used the diagonal: black background, fiber and a vintage feel.  I don't really do vintage well, but think the stamp set from CTMH counts as does the background paper and the roughed edges with the gold highlights.  Thee black background is easy to pick up and I hope that the hand dyed ribbon with gold flecks can be counted as fiber.  Not really a traditional fiber, but not paper either.....

My husband and son told me it turned out nice, but the best compliment has come from the sweet girl I watch who is four.  She said "That's beautiful."  I hope you agree!

Thanksgiving or stopping,

With Sympathy

Never fun to make a sympathy card, but I did enjoy the current Mojo Monday sketch.

Feel the Love

Our theme for February 15th is Feel the Love!

With the post being the day after Valentine’s Day, we wanted the love to continue for another day……………………..

Debbie has stamped the sentiment The Fruit is the Spirit of Love for both teams to use.  She is not sure of the company who made the stamp as the name is blurred on the wood.  You must use the sentiment on your card, but you also can add any image of your choosing if you want.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and Brown along with Stampin’ Up Real Red

Here is the deal—this month we are honoring each of our founders, Jeanette and Kelly.

What isn't to LOVE about the two of them.  Both are secure in God and themselves.  They deal lovingly with the good and the bad.  And I am proud to call them my friends!

Kit details:
Ribbons from Stampin' Up!

Lg white brad/brown brad - Stampin' Up!

Crap!

Just a quick card I whipped up this morning.  My FIL asked for a card to send his cousin who is having some health issues.  So few sentiments work with the circumstances.....so I went with this set from Unity.

I did use the current Tuesday Morning Sketch as inspiration.

Thanks for stopping.

COF

Barb is the hostess this month; and, she put this verse and challenge out to us:

Colossians 3:23 --Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
The Living Bible version-- --Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters

I think we all work hard at many things in life--so I want to challenge you to think of what you might work hard at, but cheerfully. You can take this a few ways:

~Perhaps--you can take a picture of what you would do as a career, if you could "be anything you want to be" when "you grow up". The sky is the limit--no restrictions at all. What is a job you would love to have?

~Or--look around and see what you love to do in life. It could be cooking, or crafting, or gardening, or reading, or whatever....... What do you do that always puts a smile on your face or gets you in a good mood?

~Maybe--you have a different thought of what this passages says to you. Please feel free to share.

Tell us how this verse rings true to you.

No, I don't want to make snow.....nor do I love to shovel.  BUT, I do.....as does my darling husband.  And, we gladly do it for our neighbors as well.....

I think this verse calls us all to do things cheerfully.  We may not want to do these 'chores', but is it easier to do with a smile or as a grump??  Yep, with a smile.  And, that is why my family does it together.  We are fortunate to be able to do it, and God knows that it can be accomplished.....so, many hands make light work of it.  And not only do we smile, but so do our neighbors!

Hugs,
April
